OakNorth lends £5.7m to J Hopkins Contractors for new HQ acquisition

OakNorth has provided a £5.7m loan to civil engineering and infrastructure provider J Hopkins Contractors.

The £5.7m loan from OakNorth will be used by J Hopkins Contractors to acquire its new company HQ, situated in Irlam, Salford.

Located outside Manchester city centre, the new 6.4-acre site is larger than the firm’s previous main office, enabling the leading infrastructure provider to accelerate its future revenue growth.

The additional space will also help facilitate the expansion of the company’s plant and equipment, enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.

Noel Hopkins, managing director at J Hopkins Contractors, commented: “The acquisition of the new site is a significant milestone for our company, providing the space and resources needed to support our long-term growth strategy.

“OakNorth’s understanding of our business, Greater Manchester’s contractor and infrastructure market, and flexible approach to financing have been instrumental in making this possible.”

Stewart Haworth, director of debt finance at OakNorth, added: “J Hopkins Contractors exemplifies the type of resilient, growth-oriented business that OakNorth is committed to supporting.

“With contractor revenue set for growth over the next five years, driven by major infrastructure programs, the firm’s strategic acquisition of the Irlam site positions them perfectly to capitalise on this tailwind and drive continued success in the infrastructure sector.

“We are delighted to provide Noel and his team with a tailored financing solution that meets their current needs and supports their future ambitions.”
